Warranty / Return Policy (Quick Summary)
- 3-Year / Unlimited Miles for transmissions in cars & light-duty trucks (parts only).
- Warranty is non-transferable and applies to the original purchaser.
- Prior authorization is required before any return or warranty claim is shipped back.
- Repairs/replacement are made at the discretion of Transmission Depot after inspection.
- Labor is not covered. Shipping/freight charges are the customer’s responsibility and are non-refundable.
- After 30 days: warranty/exchange claims require the buyer to pay return shipping.
- Installation requirement: must be installed by an ASE-certified repair facility within 30 days of delivery, and proof of installation must be provided.
- Converter requirement: a new torque converter must be installed unless supplied by us; dated documentation required.
- Maintenance requirement: transmission must be serviced within 12 months and annually thereafter; documentation required.
Returns
All returns require prior authorization from our Warranty Department before merchandise is returned for warranty or any other reason. Please contact us first to expedite the fastest resolution.
Restocking: We reserve the right to refund the full purchase price, less a 25% restocking fee for eligible returned items.
After 30 days: These items are considered custom-order items and are non-cancellable, non-returnable, and non-refundable. All transmissions returned for warranty will be repaired/replaced at our discretion.
Inspection: Our facility will inspect the unit for cause of failure and provide a report in a reasonable and timely manner (typically within 5 business days). The customer is responsible for all shipping charges.
Coverage Details
Parts Only: The warranty covers the transmission and components purchased from Transmission Depot only. If a failure occurs during the warranty period and is determined to be due to defective workmanship or parts installed, Transmission Depot will repair or replace the unit at our discretion.
Not Covered: Labor, diagnostic time, fluids/filters, shop supplies, towing, rentals, loss of time, loss of income/revenue, transportation, or any consequential/incidental damages.
Common Causes Not Covered: improper installation, contamination due to cooler/lines not properly flushed, abnormal wear from contaminants, fluid starvation, abuse/misuse/neglect/accident, overheating, or continued operation after a known issue is reported.
Tampering / Water: Warranty is void if the unit is opened/tampered with by anyone other than Transmission Depot, or if the transmission is exposed to water or water is found to have been inside.
Special Warranty Terms
- Stage 3 and higher builds / custom transmissions: 90-day defect warranty (does not cover broken hard parts from launches or excessive horsepower).
- Medium/Heavy duty vehicles (11,000 GVW or greater): 18 months or 100,000 miles.
- International: 3-year warranty excludes international customers. Transmission Depot is not responsible for any taxes/duties/shipping fees associated with international shipments. Contact [email protected].

Chargebacks / Refunds: Under no circumstances can a refund or credit card chargeback be issued without return of the product.
